• Oversee comprehensive site selection processes, which include conducting market research, identifying potential sites, performing preliminary due diligence, and preparing stakeholder presentations.
• Assess sites by analyzing power availability and costs, land acquisition opportunities, fiber access, seismic and climate risks, and local incentive programs.
• Collaborate with utilities, grid operators, and local government to evaluate timelines and capacity for power interconnections.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with site brokers, real estate advisors, and development partners.
• Develop and sustain a pipeline of potential sites across targeted markets in North America and globally.
• Create and maintain site evaluation scorecards, financial models, and risk assessments to facilitate executive decision-making.
• Engage with Legal, Finance, and Engineering departments to move sites from selection to lease execution or land acquisition.
• Monitor regulatory, zoning, and permitting landscapes in target markets to proactively mitigate approval risks.
• Observe competitive site activities and developments in the energy market to shape expansion strategies.
• Work closely with the construction and design teams to ensure site feasibility meets technical requirements for hyperscale deployments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Engineering, Urban Planning, Business, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in data center site selection, real estate development, or critical infrastructure siting.
• Extensive knowledge of power infrastructure, including utility interconnections, grid capacity analysis, and substation development.
• Understanding of permitting procedures, environmental reviews, and land use entitlements for large-scale industrial projects.
• Proven experience collaborating with utility companies, municipalities, and economic development organizations.
• Proficient in building and presenting intricate financial models and location analyses to senior leadership.
• Willingness to travel frequently to assess sites and engage with local stakeholders.
