Data Architect, German

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance enterprise data architecture along with cloud-based data platforms.

• Establish architecture for Data Lakes, data processing, and analytics solutions on AWS.

• Create scalable data ingestion, transformation, integration, and processing pipelines.

• Set architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for data platforms.

• Design and supervise data migration and system integration strategies.

• Ensure adherence to Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Security, and access-control standards.

• Specify data models, data flows, interfaces, and integration patterns across intricate environments.

• Assist in architectural decisions related to batch and real-time data processing.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on Hadoop, Spark, Airflow, and AWS-based solutions.

• Promote automation and support CI/CD practices for data platforms and pipelines.

• Ensure that solutions fulfill requirements for scalability, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Work in partnership with Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, Security teams, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.

• Convert business and technical requirements into target architecture and implementation roadmaps.

• Conduct architecture reviews and offer technical guidance to delivery teams.

• Generate and maintain architecture documentation, data flows, standards, and technical specifications.

• Support Agile/Scrum delivery and engage in technical workshops with stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Data Architect / Data Platform Architect.

• Extensive experience in designing enterprise-scale data platforms and data architectures.

• Strong knowledge of AWS data services and cloud architecture.

• Significant experience with AWS Data Lake and Amazon EMR.

• Strong expertise in Hadoop and Apache Spark.

• Familiarity with Apache Airflow and workflow orchestration.

• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT patterns and modern data pipelines.

• Experience in designing batch and/or streaming data architectures.

• Extensive background in Data Migration, Data Integration, and system integration.

• Proficient knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage.

• Strong grasp of Data Security, IAM, encryption, and access-control concepts.

• Experience in data modeling and designing data flows across distributed systems.

• Understanding of relational, NoSQL, and analytical data storage concepts.

• Experience in architecting solutions for scalability, high availability, performance, and resilience.

• Proficient in CI/CD and infrastructure/data pipeline automation.

• Ability to establish architecture principles, standards, patterns, and technical documentation.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.

• AWS Data Analytics certification.

• ITIL Foundation certification.

• At least four relevant project references within the last 8 years for each major capability area.

• Excellent command of English.

• German language skills are a plus; candidates without German are encouraged if they possess a strong technical fit.

• Experience in utilizing AI tools in daily workflow is a plus.

• Familiarity with modern Lakehouse architectures is a plus.

• Experience with event-driven and real-time data architectures is a plus.

• Understanding of Data Mesh and Data Fabric concepts is a plus.

• Experience in large-scale international or regulated enterprise environments is a plus.

• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and architecture governance processes is a plus.
