Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance data architectures for cloud and hybrid environments.

• Establish and uphold data modeling standards, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Construct and enhance enterprise data pipelines and integration frameworks to facilitate analytics and operational requirements.

• Architect and oversee data platforms utilizing technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, and Azure Data services.

• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to convert business requirements into effective data solutions.

• Create and sustain frameworks for data governance, quality, and metadata management.

• Ensure that data privacy, security, and compliance standards are upheld across all platforms and pipelines.

• Direct architecture decisions regarding data storage solutions, such as data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data processing systems.

• Enhance the performance and cost-efficiency of data platforms and workloads.

• Support Agile delivery frameworks and take part in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and architectural roadmaps.

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices for data solutions.

• Assess emerging technologies and propose solutions to improve data capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in software/services is required.

• Over 8 years of progressive experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related fields, including the design of enterprise-scale data solutions.

• More than 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing modern data platforms using technologies like Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, or similar distributed data systems.

• Strong expertise (5+ years) in Python, SQL, PySpark, R, or similar languages for large-scale data processing and analytics.

• Demonstrated ability to architect, build, and optimize complex data pipelines, ecosystems, and large, multi-source data environments.

• 3+ years of experience in designing and supporting cloud-based data architectures, preferably with Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Spark, Azure ML, Cosmos DB).

• Proven experience in leading or influencing architecture decisions and establishing standards for scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.

• Experience in implementing data governance, security, privacy, and compliance frameworks within enterprise environments.

• Practical experience with Agile methodologies and leading technical design within Agile delivery teams.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Azure DevOps, Terraform, ARM, GitHub Actions, Ansible Tower), including setting standards for automation and deployment.

• Experience in integrating enterprise systems and platforms, including Salesforce FSC and/or Salesforce Data Cloud.

• Proven capability to mentor engineering teams and influence technical strategy, best practices, and architectural direction.
