This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Oversee the daily operations of a core Data & Analytics team that provides centralized data coordination and analysis services for an extensive research portfolio.
• Directly manage a small, dedicated team, including a Clinical Data Manager and a Data Management Analyst, to support a substantial portfolio of over 65 active multi-site research studies.
• Supervise the daily data management and analysis workflow.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct your own data management, quality control (QC), and data analysis tasks.
• Ensure timely execution of high-quality, compliant research, proper documentation of procedures, accurate data reporting, and real-time data access for investigators and staff.
• Provide regular summaries and updates to the Program Supervisor.
• Plan and facilitate both individual and team meetings.
• Direct the performance review processes for assigned data team personnel.
• Oversee the daily operations of the assigned data management & analytics team program staff.
• Maintain oversight of data management and analysis requirements across a large portfolio of clinical research studies, effectively delegating tasks and monitoring project timelines.
• Mentor and lead a team of data professionals.
• Act as a hands-on resource to perform technical tasks (e.g., database builds, QC cycles, dashboard creation) during team absences or peak periods.
• Supervise the drafting, application, and compliance management of Data Sharing Agreements (DSAs) and Data Use Agreements (DUAs).
• A Bachelor's degree in a scientific, informatics, or related field is required.
• A Master's degree, relevant work experience, or pertinent professional certification is strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in clinical research data management, clinical trials, or a data coordinating center environment is required.
• Previous experience in conducting research is highly desirable.
• 1-2 years of team management, leadership, or direct supervisory experience is required.
• Strong working knowledge of clinical research data compliance, including FDA-regulated clinical trial requirements, IRB mandates for human subjects protection, and general best research practices is essential.
• Proven experience in building complex, longitudinal, multi-arm electronic clinical research databases is required.
• Experience with REDCap is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to clean, analyze, and present real-time data and metrics is essential.
• A solid understanding of data visualization principles and the capability to create or troubleshoot business intelligence dashboards is required.
• Experience with PowerBI is strongly preferred.
• Experience in executing or navigating data agreements (e.g., data use agreements, data sharing agreements, etc.) concerning data privacy and security is highly desired.
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess exceptional diplomatic and professional communication skills.
• Ability to effectively build relationships with key stakeholders and communicate requirements for data and analytics systems while translating technical data needs to non-technical stakeholders is essential.
