Data Analytics and Reporting Subject Matter Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to establish essential business metrics and gather requirements for scalable insights.

• Design and construct data pipelines, as well as create new dashboards tailored to stakeholder needs.

• Enhance and maintain existing data infrastructure and dashboards in response to changing business demands.

• Publish and uphold comprehensive documentation to educate users at scale while collecting feedback to identify areas for enhancement.

• Explore opportunities to streamline and increase the efficiency of our data processes.

• Implement modifications to our infrastructure, such as optimizing SQL queries and data workflows, to reduce data landing time.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pinpoint data requirements and gaps while aligning on effective solutions.

• Manage projects from inception to completion, demonstrating foresight and providing thoughtful partnership to your team.

• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of client and departmental requirements to ensure analytics deliverables meet contractual obligations, service-level expectations, and business outcomes.

• Collaborate with leadership to identify data-driven enhancements, highlight risks or issues, and support solution-oriented initiatives and transformational projects.

• Serve as a trusted analytics advisor to leadership, offering insights, recommendations, and proactive guidance based on data trends and performance metrics.

• Facilitate operational and strategic decision-making by clearly communicating complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in Data Analytics.

• Proficiency in Python and/or other data scripting languages.

• Experience using a business intelligence visualization tool (Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

• Skilled in querying, analyzing, and working with data languages and platforms to examine large and diverse data sets.

• Proven ability to learn and apply emerging data analytic toolkits based on specific problem statements.

• Strong analytical skills and curiosity to interpret and explain inquiries and observations in data.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where unique problems require creative and efficient solutions.

• At least 2 years of experience coding in SQL (preferred).

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in process management and improvement methodologies – Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, etc. (preferred).

• At least 1 year of experience working within a cloud environment (AWS/Azure preferred) (preferred).

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in data governance, data quality management concepts, and data quality tools (preferred).

• At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, etc.) (preferred).

• Minimum of 2 years supporting contracts or working within a contractual or client-based services environment, adhering to SLAs, performance metrics, and regulatory requirements (preferred).

• Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing projects, mentoring junior analysts, or acting as a functional or technical lead on cross-functional initiatives (preferred).

• Experience working directly with executive or senior leadership to define reporting needs, present insights, and influence decision-making (preferred).

• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities, deadlines, and business needs (preferred).

• Experience in highly regulated environments (healthcare, government, public sector, or similar preferred) (preferred).

• Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining accountability, communication, and productivity (preferred).
