This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Compare and reconcile extensive datasets across both legacy and new Oracle databases.
• Investigate around 7–10 million identified data discrepancies.
• Conduct root-cause analysis to identify reasons for record and field mismatches.
• Review Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and logic from legacy applications.
• Trace data from various source systems through Informatica and PL/SQL transformations.
• Ascertain intended business rules and the proper population of individual fields.
• Differentiate between source-data issues, transformation errors, mapping gaps, and logic discrepancies.
• Document findings, business rules, patterns of discrepancies, and suggested resolutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to confirm data expectations.
• Work alongside architects and developers to propose solutions.
• Assist developers during the remediation process and validate implemented solutions.
• Utilize AI-assisted analysis tools when applicable.
• Take ownership of assigned analyses and communicate results to both technical and business stakeholders.
• A minimum of seven years of experience in data analysis, data migration, data quality, database development, or a related field.
• Strong practical expertise with Oracle databases, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Experience with large-scale data reconciliation, validation, and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to read and comprehend database code, stored procedures, transformations, and business logic.
• Experience in investigating discrepancies between legacy and modernized systems.
• Understanding of ETL processes, relational databases, data warehousing, and data integration.
• Experience in translating technical findings into clear, business-friendly terminology.
• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving skills.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision and take charge of deliverables.
• Prior experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Preferred experience with Informatica.
• Exposure to master data management and data governance is preferred.
• Experience with multiple operational source systems is preferred.
• Backend application development experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams is preferred.
• Remote work is acceptable.
• Preference for alignment with the client’s working time zone (MST).
