Data Analyst IV, Healthcare Analytics, Medical Economics

📋 Description

• Analyze comprehensive and integrated datasets to derive value that directly influences business decisions.

• Collaborate with key business stakeholders to pinpoint areas of value, develop solutions, and provide insights aimed at reducing the overall cost of care for members while enhancing their clinical outcomes.

• The role of Data Analyst IV centers on analyzing and generating complex reports, understanding financial drivers and cost trends, and utilizing insights to optimize medical expenditures while ensuring quality care is maintained.

• Interpret and analyze data from diverse sources, including healthcare providers, members/patients, and third-party data.

• Spearhead the planning and execution of large-scale projects and new reporting tools, translating business objectives into actionable solutions.

• Identify and address data, process, and technical challenges, communicating root causes to stakeholders as necessary.

• Collaborate across all organizational levels and effectively communicate findings and insights both verbally and visually to non-technical business partners.

• Engage independently with business leaders to comprehend market-specific drivers and constraints.

• Utilize enterprise reporting tools to swiftly deliver data-driven insights and recommendations.

• Investigate key business challenges and proactively uncover opportunities for cost and utilization enhancements through quantitative analysis.

• Present data-driven insights and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders, soliciting and integrating feedback as needed.

• Mentor junior analysts on best practices in analytics and fulfilling business needs.

• Delegate tasks to junior analysts, providing guidance and validation as necessary.

• Perform additional duties as assigned and adhere to all policies and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, public health, health informatics, healthcare administration, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A Master’s degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with large databases, data verification, and data management, or 3+ years of IT experience.

• Experience in healthcare analytics is preferred.

• Proficiency in table creation, indexing, query optimization, and the use of stored procedures.

• Working knowledge of SQL and querying languages.

• Preferred familiarity with programmatic coding languages such as Python and R.

• Knowledge of statistical, analytical, or data mining techniques, including basic data modeling, trend analysis, and root-cause analysis is preferred.

• Preferred experience with modern business intelligence and visualization tools.

• Experience in analyzing emerging trends, financial modeling, claims pricing, contract/network analysis, and/or ROI evaluation is preferred.

• Familiarity with claims payment, utilization management, provider/vendor contracts, and risk adjustment for government-sponsored healthcare is desired.
