Data Analyst, Embedded UAT Tester – Junior/Mid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation, execution, and governance of a comprehensive UAT framework.

• Formulate UAT plans, test scenarios, test cases, acceptance criteria, traceability matrices, issue logs, readiness assessments, and results reports.

• Organize and lead UAT sessions with representative users.

• Conduct data analysis, profiling, reconciliation, and validation utilizing Databricks, SQL, and contemporary analytics workflows.

• Ensure data quality, integrity, transformations, business rules, reports, dashboards, and analytic outputs are validated.

• Create and execute SQL-based test queries for validation, defect investigation, regression testing, and UAT purposes.

• Assist in usability and 508 testing, including evaluating workflow effectiveness, query performance, dashboard usability, self-service capabilities, accessibility, and comprehensive user journeys.

• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, data engineers, QA teams, UX/CX specialists, developers, and client leadership.

• Convert testing results and user feedback into actionable backlog items.

• Record and convey data quality issues, usability concerns, defects, risks, and recommendations.

• Facilitate Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Manage requirements, testing artifacts, and traceability using Jira and Confluence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• At least 1 year of experience as a Data Analyst, Systems Analyst, Quality Analyst, Business Analyst, or a similar role that supports enterprise data, analytics, reporting, or system validation efforts.

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract stipulations.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal public trust or equivalent client-required background check.

• Must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and perform all work in the U.S.

• Must have lived in the U.S. for three full years out of the last five years.

• A minimum of 1 year of hands-on SQL experience.

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Databricks or a similar modern cloud data platform.

• 1+ years of experience in validating enterprise system functionality, data outputs, dashboards, reports, workflows, or acceptance criteria.

• 508 certification or the ability to obtain it.

• Experience in developing and executing UAT plans, test cases, acceptance criteria, traceability matrices, defect logs, and results reports.

• Background in supporting usability testing, workflow analysis, user research, surveys, or user feedback analysis.

• Experience in supporting federal data modernization, emergency management, disaster response, public sector analytics, or other mission-driven IT programs.

• Proficiency in implementing data validation practices in production analytics, reporting, dashboarding, or cloud data platform environments.

• Familiarity with QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS, or similar software.

• Experience with data governance, metadata management, data catalogs, role-based access control, data sharing, or federated data stewardship models.

• Proficient with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GitLab, or similar tools.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and SAFe ceremonies.

• Strong technical writing abilities.

• Excellent time management, organizational, facilitation, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Capable of communicating complex data, testing, and usability findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to self-organize, prioritize tasks, and conduct research on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
