Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Create and uphold enterprise data architecture for both structured and semi-structured healthcare information.

• Develop logical, conceptual, and physical data models.

• Set data standards, naming conventions, and practices for metadata management.

• Facilitate event-driven and API-based data architectures.

• Align data architecture with CMS interoperability requirements, including FHIR and HL7.

• Examine large healthcare datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies.

• Aid in fraud, waste, and abuse detection initiatives through data analysis.

• Construct analytical datasets and data marts for reporting and investigative purposes.

• Convert stakeholder needs into data solutions.

• Assist with API Gateway integrations utilizing MuleSoft or equivalent technologies.

• Ensure data consistency across Kafka streaming pipelines and batch sources.

• Define data contracts and schemas for real-time data exchange.

• Verify data transformations and mappings between source and target systems.

• Implement data governance, lineage, and stewardship practices.

• Oversee and enhance data quality, accuracy, and completeness.

• Assist with data audits, validations, and remediation activities.

• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, CMS, FISMA, and NIST standards.

• Design and support reports, dashboards, and analytics for program integrity and operational purposes.

• Address ad-hoc data requests from investigators and oversight teams.

• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, and security teams.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies and data design reviews.

• Maintain documentation of data models, mappings, and architectural decisions.

• Comply with company information security policies and requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in data architecture and/or data analysis.

• Extensive experience in data modeling, including ER, dimensional, and normalized models.

• Proficient in SQL and data analysis methodologies.

• Experience working within large enterprise data environments.

• Must be eligible to acquire and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

• Must have physically resided in the United States for at least three of the last five years.

• Experience supporting CMS, Medicaid, or federal healthcare programs is preferred.

• Familiarity with HL7 FHIR and healthcare data standards is preferred.

• Knowledge of CMS CPI systems such as PECOS and APS is preferred.

• Understanding of the CMS Medicare Program Integrity Manual is preferred.

• Experience with API-driven data integration; MuleSoft is preferred.

• Familiarity with Kafka or streaming data platforms is preferred.

• Experience with cloud data platforms like AWS is preferred.
