This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and maintain data pipelines on the Lakehouse, encompassing ingestion, transformation, quality checks, and monitoring.
• Create product features from initial requirements to production, including testing and comprehensive documentation.
• Develop machine learning or generative AI components that align with the product roadmap.
• Implement evaluation practices to validate model performance and effectiveness.
• Adhere to platform patterns and engineering standards, while providing constructive feedback for enhancements.
• Engage in code reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
• Analyze defects, identify root causes, and relay updates to the Product Manager.
• Incorporate instrumentation to evaluate and enhance product usage, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate directly with business users to clarify requirements and develop practical solutions.
• Actively participate in design discussions and technical decisions within the product pod.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for supported components and workflows.
• A minimum of three years of professional experience in data engineering, machine learning engineering, analytics engineering, or software development.
• Proficient in Python and SQL, including the capability to write, test, and debug production code independently.
• Familiarity with a cloud data platform and principles of distributed data processing.
• Experience with version control and collaborative development practices, such as branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and fundamental data quality concepts.
• Ability to manage a backlog, communicate progress effectively, and proactively address risks or timing issues.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Practical experience with Databricks, including workflows, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment practices for data workloads.
• Proven experience delivering solutions for internal business users.
• Databricks certification at the associate or professional level.
• Experience with MLflow, model serving, or generative AI application patterns.
• Background in front-end development, including React or a similar framework.
• Understanding of architecture, engineering, or professional services operations.
