Data & AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will create data maps across diverse inventories and evaluate the maturity of the digital infrastructure.

• You will unlock unstructured data sources (such as PDFs, reports, and publications) for integration into AI systems.

• You will develop concepts for metadata and identifiers, data models, and embedding pipelines, as well as construct the retrieval layer for RAG applications.

• You will manage sensitive data with care and collaborate closely on AI governance, data protection, compliance with the EU AI Act, and sovereignty requirements.

• You will design and operate ingest and retrieval pipelines for proprietary software products in the future.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three years of experience in Data Engineering or as a Data Platform Engineer.

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, along with confidence in the Modern Data Stack (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Dagster) and ETL/ELT processes.

• Hands-on experience with embedding pipelines and vector databases (such as Qdrant, Weaviate, Milvus, pgvector).

• Proven experience in responsibly managing sensitive and personal data and familiarity with relevant regulations, particularly GDPR, as well as awareness of the EU AI Act.
