Data Acquisition Specialist – External Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Conduct activities related to the identification, setup, and integration of External Data Streams.

• Deliver outputs for Standardized External Data Streams.

• Evaluate external data collection needs according to protocols and plan the activities for setting up external data streams.

• Collaborate with key data stakeholders to define the objectives of data collection and the requirements for data transfer, ingestion, and structure.

• Generate change requests for the definition of new testing concepts or data structures associated with external data.

• Formulate trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements (tsDTA’s).

• Ensure that data transfer frequencies meet the established requirements.

• Coordinate with external data providers to secure alignment and agreement on tsDTA.

• Convert medical and scientific concepts into data mapping instructions.

• Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for test data transfers to guarantee accuracy and consistency with the data specifications outlined in Data Transfer Agreements.

• Establish data transfer mechanisms for external data streams, including access for external data providers.

• Oversee the availability and accuracy of external data streams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, ideally in Computer Science.

• At least 3 years of experience managing data in support of clinical research.

• Familiarity with external data such as Safety Lab, PK, Simple Biomarkers, ECG, etc.

• Experience working with external data providers in a clinical study environment.

• Proficiency in developing data transfer agreements.

• Background in clinical trials.

• Experience working in diverse teams within clinical research, including cross-functional, global, and multiregional contexts.

• Understanding of SDTM.

• Practical knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
