This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Utilize specialized clinical expertise with hospital partners to categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.
• Ensure accurate submission of all data in designated registries or measure data repositories, upholding a high standard of accuracy.
• Organize, prioritize, and meet stringent deadlines for various simultaneous tasks and team requests; employs tact and judgment to manage expectations, identify obstacles, and propose timely solutions.
• Navigate new technical platforms, including electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools; leverage team resources to resolve technical issues with systems and applications, focusing on solutions.
• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and other business rule documents; identifies opportunities for process improvements to enhance task and workflow efficiency.
• Stay informed about mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements as outlined by federal, state, payer, and other agencies.
• Must have direct clinical data abstraction experience within the MBSAQIP registry within the past year.
• Possess an active MBSCR certification.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to systematically approach problems, synthesizing data to provide recommendations.
• Exhibits high standards for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Demonstrates technical proficiency and a keen desire to learn new systems and technologies.
• Excels in independent work and takes ownership of projects and patient records.
• Communicates clearly and consistently, adapting style and tone as necessary to collaborate with hospital partners, peers, team leads, and others.
• Shows strong self-organization and time management skills to manage multiple accounts, adjusting as needed to evolving timelines and priorities.
• Adapts to changes in hospital partner timelines, requirements, and project assignments.
• Maintains a high level of responsibility in safeguarding PHI and ensuring confidentiality.
• Direct clinical experience is preferred.
• RN, LPN, RT, or RCIS credentials are preferred.
