This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry or case information from detailed patient medical records.
• Guarantee the accurate submission of data into designated registries or measure data repositories while maintaining a high level of precision.
• Organize and prioritize various simultaneous tasks and team requests, adhere to strict deadlines, manage expectations, identify challenges, and propose prompt solutions.
• Utilize electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools; resolve technical issues in collaboration with team resources.
• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and documentation of business rules.
• Recognize opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency in tasks and procedures.
• Keep up-to-date with required regulatory and publicly reported data standards.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Recent direct clinical data abstraction experience within the MBSAQIP registry in the last year.
• Current MBSCR certification.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Capability to synthesize data and make recommendations.
• High standards for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Technologically adept with a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects and patient records.
• Clear and consistent communication with hospital partners, colleagues, team leaders, and others.
• Excellent self-organization and time management skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing timelines, requirements, and project assignments from hospital partners.
• Commitment to safeguarding PHI and maintaining confidentiality.
• Direct clinical experience preferred, such as RN, LPN, RT, or RCIS credentials.
