D365 Licensing Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Gather and reconcile customer usage data with licensed entitlements to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

• Identify discrepancies such as over-usage, under-usage, or compliance risks and propose remediation strategies.

• Deliver clear, actionable reports and insights to management, finance, procurement, and account teams.

• Suggest adjustments in license allocation to minimize costs and optimize usage across various teams.

• Anticipate future licensing needs based on usage patterns and business growth objectives.

• Review Dynamics 365 security roles and accurately map them to corresponding license types (Operations, Team Member, Device, Activity, capacity-based entitlements).

• Conduct data analysis utilizing Excel, Power BI, and/or SQL to extract, validate, and reconcile licensing details.

• Spot over-licensing or under-licensing risks and present cost-saving recommendations while ensuring compliance with Microsoft regulations.

• Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Procurement to execute optimization strategies and enhance cost efficiency.

• Articulate licensing requirements, risks, and optimization opportunities in both technical and business-friendly language.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 15 years of overall IT experience, with at least 5 years focused on Microsoft licensing (Dynamics 365 preferred).

• Profound knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management license types and entitlements.

• Significant experience in user role and security analysis within D365.

• Expertise in Excel, Power BI, and/or SQL for license data analysis and reporting purposes.

• Familiarity with Microsoft licensing regulations, compliance frameworks, and optimization best practices.

• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to identify discrepancies and project licensing requirements.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating with finance and procurement teams on cost optimization initiatives.

• Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Apps Solution Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate, Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate.
