This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute FISH analysis, encompassing the examination and imaging of digitized images.
• Carry out cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads through computerized imaging.
• Evaluate cytogenetic cases utilizing computerized images and associated documentation.
• Scrutinize test requisitions to collect relevant information for analysis.
• Summarize test findings using ISCN nomenclature.
• Differentiate between normal and abnormal test outcomes.
• Oversee, operate, and troubleshoot equipment, software, and applications.
• Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and troubleshooting.
• Deliver accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
• Communicate issues to the general supervisor promptly.
• Collaborate with the general supervisor on the development and review of protocols and policies.
• Offer technical insights to senior technologists.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Primarily conduct onscreen FISH analysis, with occasional chromosome work using Metasystems (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI) digital platforms.
• Operate remotely in a dynamic, multi-site environment while effectively managing competing priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in FISH and chromosomes for oncology cytogenetics.
• Preferred: at least 2 years of experience analyzing cytogenetic metaphase spreads through computerized imaging.
• Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may be accepted in lieu of the listed educational requirements.
• Proficiency in computer usage.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
• Capability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed by the business.
• A dedicated private home office room that meets HIPAA compliance standards.
• Wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mb/sec.
• Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment while managing competing tasks.
