Cybersecurity Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily cybersecurity operations across various technical workstreams.

• Manage work priorities among incident response, vulnerability management, RMF, engineering, ISSO, policy, and continuous monitoring teams.

• Facilitate regular operational meetings, status updates, backlog assessments, and action item tracking.

• Maintain the Integrated Master Schedule and synchronize deliverables throughout the program.

• Supervise service delivery, staffing, workload distribution, and operational performance.

• Monitor risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies while coordinating mitigation efforts.

• Ensure regular reports, metrics, dashboards, and executive briefings are produced accurately and in a timely manner.

• Organize onboarding activities, knowledge transfer, and operational readiness during contract transitions and throughout program execution.

• Act as the operational escalation point for cross-functional issues requiring collaboration between technical teams.

• Assist Government leadership through regular operational reviews and program governance meetings.

• Propel continuous process improvement by identifying workflow bottlenecks, enhancing coordination, and boosting operational efficiency.

• Coordinate surge support during critical incidents, major vulnerability response efforts, or emerging operational needs.

• Collaborate closely with the Program Manager to ensure contractual obligations, performance metrics, and customer expectations are consistently met.

• Oversee the performance and development of assigned Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts and related task orders.

• Manage contract execution, customer relationships, staffing, financial performance, subcontractor coordination, compliance, and program reporting.

• Coordinate across delivery, contracts, finance, recruiting, business development, and technical teams to plan, staff, and execute task orders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

• Approximately 5 or more years of experience in leading cybersecurity operations, security programs, or enterprise IT operations.

• Experience in managing cross-functional technical teams that support Federal customers.

• Proven ability to coordinate multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity operations, vulnerability management, RMF, incident response, or security engineering programs.

• Experience in developing executive status reports, operational dashboards, and performance metrics.

• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience supporting Federal cybersecurity programs operating under FISMA or NIST guidelines.

• Preferred: Experience supporting NIH, HHS, or other Federal civilian agencies.

• Preferred: Experience with enterprise cybersecurity operations centers or integrated cyber programs.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) programs.

• Preferred: Experience coordinating RMF lifecycle activities and continuous monitoring efforts.

• Preferred: Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Microsoft Project, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar collaboration and reporting platforms.

• Preferred certifications: PMP, CAPM, ITIL Foundation or higher, CISSP, CISM, Security+, or CGRC.
