Cybersecurity Cloud Subject Matter Expert, SME

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Ensure that the architecture and design of cloud-based IT systems are secure and comply with DOD standards.

• Evaluate cloud security policies and offer suggestions to enhance the security posture, ensuring compliance with protection, detection, monitoring, and response protocols.

• Deliver cloud resilience, vulnerability remediation, security engineering, and ATO documentation.

• Utilize current knowledge of cloud security engineering and threat landscapes to assist in program and application deployment.

• Contribute throughout the deployment process to guarantee that systems align with DOD compliance mandates.

• Direct assessment personnel in conducting Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments for cloud hosting environments.

• Assist the DLA PIEE Development and Sustainment program, which includes modernization, legacy code refactoring, Agile/DevSecOps delivery, AWS GovCloud operations, CI/CD automation, cybersecurity, AI/ML integration, automated testing, and enhancements in system performance and user experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Active Top Secret Clearance is required.

• At least 10 years of professional experience.

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in achieving ATOs within a cloud environment (OCI, AWS, Azure).

• At least five (5) years of experience obtaining ATOs for compartmented DoD IT.

• In-depth understanding of FedRAMP assessment methodologies.

• Experience with OCI, AWS GovCloud IL5, RMF, Zero Trust, STIGs, and POA&M.

• Experience in working with enterprise-level DoD systems.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is mandatory.

• Must fulfill the relevant DoD 8140 cybersecurity workforce qualification criteria.

• Possession of cloud certifications (OCI, AWS, Azure, etc.) and either CISSP, CCSP, CompTIA Security X, or Security+ is required.
