Cybersecurity Automation Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation and upkeep of scripts, tools, and automation frameworks aimed at enhancing security operations.

• Aid in the integration of security tools within CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and incident response workflows.

• Automate recurring security tasks, including log analysis, vulnerability scanning, and alert triage.

• Contribute to the collection, normalization, and analysis of security data from various sources.

• Document and uphold automation procedures to ensure consistent reliability and scalability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, DevOps, Security, Engineering) to incorporate security automation into existing workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program for Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Basic programming skills, preferably in Python.

• Understanding of core cybersecurity concepts (vulnerabilities, scanning, risk assessment).

• Familiarity with Linux/Unix command-line environments.

• Capability to write, debug, and maintain scripts.

• Strong analytical mindset with a keen interest in automation and optimization.

• Effective documentation and communication skills.

• Experience in automating security workflows or scans.

• Familiarity with APIs, JSON, and RESTful integrations.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).

• Understanding of AI principles.

• Knowledge of security testing tools and automation frameworks.

• Interest in DevSecOps and scalable security solutions.
