Cyber Security Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Available to instruct synchronous online courses using Microsoft Teams

• Design and organize instructional activities to enhance student learning and engagement

• Adapt instructional methods and strategies as necessary to cater to diverse student needs

• Utilize effective teaching and learning strategies to convey subject matter to students

• Hold current certifications in the subjects being taught

• Facilitate relevant certification test preparation sessions each term

• Offer regular student support sessions as required

• Responsible for updating relevant course shells and master templates, which include syllabus, exam banks, discussion questions, assignments, and assessments

• Assist in the selection and development of instructional materials aligned with course objectives

• Help maintain the currency of the curriculum, syllabi, and textbooks

• Review training materials and deliverables, providing recommendations for the accuracy and relevance of curriculum content and performance support tools

⛳️ Requirements

• Appropriate credential, license, or certification: Required: CompTIA Security+

• Highly recommended: CompTIA Pentest+, CySA+, CISSP, CGRC, or CEH

• Information Technology Instructors must submit official transcripts of their bachelor's (or higher) degree and active/current certification for the subject being taught

• General Education Instructors must provide official transcripts of their bachelor's and master's (or higher) degrees that include at least 18 units in the subject area being taught

• A minimum of three years of experience in the relevant field OR two years of teaching experience

• Advanced subject matter expertise is preferred, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry developments

• Experience in synchronous online teaching is preferred

• Curriculum development experience is preferred

• Proficient working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as learning technologies such as Canvas
