This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Act as a key contributor in the design and implementation of cybersecurity architectures, strategies, patterns, and solutions that support emerging technology and AI-driven cybersecurity capabilities.

• Assess the potential to utilize artificial intelligence, agentic AI, automation, orchestration, analytics, and other cutting-edge technologies to improve cybersecurity capabilities and operational models.

• Create current-state, transitional, and future-state cybersecurity architectures across various cybersecurity domains and technology platforms.

• Evaluate interoperability and automation prospects within vulnerability and exposure management, configuration and security posture management, identity and access management, endpoint protection and detection, security operations, asset and technology inventory, threat detection and response, as well as security analytics and automation.

• Investigate secure interactions between AI agents or autonomous capabilities and cybersecurity platforms, enterprise systems, data, and workflows, ensuring the maintenance of security controls, governance, and human oversight.

• Identify opportunities to streamline fragmented security processes through technology integration, consolidation, automation, and intelligent orchestration.

• Assess upcoming cybersecurity technologies, platforms, tools, and architectural strategies for enterprise relevance.

• Develop reference architectures, architectural patterns, capability models, technical recommendations, and strategic roadmaps.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity domain architects, engineering teams, security operations, technology teams, and stakeholders regarding cross-domain architecture requirements and integration opportunities.

• Evaluate architectural considerations pertaining to machine identities, AI agents, privileged access, authentication, authorization, data access, trust boundaries, and automated actions.

• Assess the security implications of incorporating AI capabilities into cybersecurity technologies and operational workflows.

• Assist in establishing architectural principles and guidelines for the responsible and secure adoption of innovative AI-enabled cybersecurity capabilities.

• Identify dependencies, architectural gaps, integration challenges, technical risks, and potential opportunities.

• Create technical assessments, architecture documentation, recommendations, and presentations for executive-level audiences.

• Stay informed on technology advancements and industry trends affecting cybersecurity architecture, operational models, and defensive capabilities.

• Operate effectively in environments characterized by emerging technologies, ambiguity, experimentation, and rapidly evolving technical capabilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.

• At least 6 years of combined experience in cybersecurity, information technology, architecture, engineering, or related technical fields.

• Proven experience in designing, evaluating, or implementing enterprise cybersecurity architectures and solutions.

• Experience working across various cybersecurity technology domains, rather than being confined to a single security discipline.

• Experience in developing architectural patterns, technical strategies, integration methodologies, or future-state technology designs.

• Demonstrated capability to assess complex technologies and translate technical capabilities into actionable enterprise use cases.

• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams that include architects, engineers, cybersecurity operations, developers, infrastructure teams, and technology vendors.

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity architecture, enterprise security technologies, and emerging trends, including the impact of AI and automation on architectures and operational frameworks.

• Ability to evaluate security as an integrated ecosystem encompassing identity, endpoints, infrastructure, applications, data, vulnerability management, security operations, and AI.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Capability to research and evaluate emerging technologies independently.

• Ability to translate emerging concepts into practical architecture patterns, use cases, recommendations, and implementation guidance.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to influence technical direction and collaborate across organizational boundaries.

• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative setting where requirements may evolve.

• Relevant cybersecurity or technology certifications are advantageous, such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, cloud or security architecture certifications, and vendor-specific security or AI certifications.

• An M.S., M.B.A., or advanced technical degree is preferred.
