This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise and assist Trade Advisors throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Offer technical advice, assess deliverables, and provide constructive feedback.
• Engage with clients and offer strategic direction to project teams.
• Manage client expectations and proactively resolve potential issues or conflicts.
• Conduct business development efforts, including meetings with prospective clients, team expertise presentations, opportunity assessments, and proposal drafting.
• Review and authorize project outputs, analyses, recommendations, advisory opinions, correspondence, and consulting reports.
• Independently oversee complex, long-term, and time-sensitive consulting projects.
• Collaborate with the Manager of Consulting & Client Services to set priorities and allocate resources.
• Lead, mentor, train, coach, and supervise Trade Advisors.
• Define project scope, prioritize tasks, develop project plans, and present client recommendations.
• Research and analyze U.S. Customs regulations and relevant trade laws.
• Generate, analyze, and interpret ACE data, customs reports, and internal system information.
• Analyze information obtained from clients, government agencies, and third-party consultants.
• Coordinate with operational teams to resolve issues, implement corrective actions, and enhance processes.
• Provide tailored client training and billable import-compliance educational programs.
• Represent the organization through presentations, seminars, webinars, industry events, and client meetings.
• Travel up to 10% as necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Auditing, International Trade, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in customs brokerage, import compliance, trade compliance, customs consulting, or import/export auditing.
• A valid U.S. Customs Broker License is mandatory.
• CCS certification is preferred.
• Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and developing trade compliance professionals.
• Experience managing intricate, time-sensitive customs compliance and consulting projects.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, import compliance obligations, tariff classification, and free trade agreements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Familiarity with ACE reporting is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with trade compliance audits, risk assessments, and development of compliance programs.
• Understanding of internal controls, ISA, CTPAT Trade Compliance, and customs compliance best practices.
• Experience with Prior Disclosures, HTS classifications, customs valuation, country-of-origin determinations, and USMCA/free trade agreement qualification assessments.
• Experience in filing CBP Binding Rulings and conducting AD/CVD scope determinations.
• Experience in creating and delivering import compliance training programs.
• Strong skills in managing client relationships.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical writing abilities.
• Strong project management skills, including scope definition, prioritization, planning, resource coordination, and timely execution.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work autonomously, make sound judgments, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
