• Deliver exceptional customer service by clarifying policy coverage and claim statuses, while assisting policyholders and/or interested third parties with claim payments or additional policy information.
• Engage in extensive phone communication with policyholders, providers, and other interested parties.
• Process requests from policyholders through various channels including correspondence, phone calls, and emails.
• Review and uphold new and updated procedures related to policy information.
• Adhere to departmental standards concerning call volume, average handling time, and effective time management.
• Bilingual employees (English/Spanish) may be eligible for a pay differential.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; some college education is preferred.
• A minimum of one year of office experience is preferred.
• Experience in telecommunications is beneficial.
• A background in life and health insurance, along with familiarity with insurance operations, is desirable.
• Experience in customer service and strong telephone communication skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational abilities are necessary.
• Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Proficient in alpha and numerical recognition skills.
• Demonstrated mathematical capabilities are crucial.
• Basic proficiency with computers is required.
• Ability to effectively manage high-stress situations with composure, tact, and professionalism.
• Strong decision-making capabilities, with the ability to evaluate situations and draw logical conclusions.
• A typing speed of at least 30 WPM is necessary.
