Customer Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical discovery process by identifying prospects' business challenges, technical landscape, and assessing qualifications prior to committing to a Proof of Concept (POC).

• Craft and present customized, research-informed demonstrations that link Mixpanel's features to specific business results.

• Determine technical alignment and outline significant proofs before initiating POCs.

• Manage competitive technical positioning against Amplitude, PostHog, and alternatives that are native to data warehouses.

• Conduct organized POCs that include established success criteria, a designated focus metric, and a actionable handoff package.

• Engage in post-sale activities for cross-selling and strategic growth, which necessitate new technical assessments.

• Collaborate with Account Executives on deal strategies, handling technical objections, and planning for expansion.

• Maintain close collaboration with Delivery Engineers to ensure POCs accurately represent production realities.

• Assist Mixpanel clients in comprehending product usage to facilitate more informed data-driven decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a technical pre-sales role within a B2B SaaS environment.

• A strong technical background in data analytics, event tracking, APIs, data warehouses, or related fields.

• A commercial mindset with a focus on securing deals.

• Proven capability to conduct structured POCs with defined success criteria and quantifiable outcomes.

• Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong understanding of the analytics landscape, or the capacity to acquire it rapidly.

• Characteristics of humility, eagerness, intelligence, and accountability.

• This role is remote within the United States.
