Crop Insurance Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Initiate contact with policyholders on agricultural properties following a loss.

• Conduct field inspections, interpret maps and aerial imagery, measure fields and storage facilities, and gather production documentation.

• Evaluate damage or loss and oversee claims through to resolution.

• Regularly operate in the field on farms, which includes climbing grain bins and traversing uneven terrain over extended distances.

• Implement ProAg adjusting guidelines and policy clauses for Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Crop Hail, and Named Peril policies.

• Execute investigative efforts to identify causes and quantify loss percentages using independent judgment.

• Refer unresolved matters to the Area Claims Supervisor.

• Communicate regulations and procedural interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry stakeholders.

• Articulate ProAg's stance on emerging industry issues, specialty crops, and expanding coverage options.

• Enhance understanding of RMA regulations, guidelines, and ProAg protocols for MPCI, Crop Hail, and Federal Crop Insurance.

• Work remotely while managing a San Joaquin Valley territory, with travel requirements up to 75% and occasional travel outside the designated area.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Experience in crop insurance claims or compliance, or relevant agricultural experience and background.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with basic computer and internet applications.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.

• Reliable transportation and a willingness to travel.

• Preferred completion of your Claim Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) certification and/or any necessary licenses mandated by State agencies.
