Crop Insurance Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Become a part of AgriSompo’s Midwest team, focusing on Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Private Products, and Named Peril claims operations.

• Develop and sustain professional relationships with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, agents, and fellow adjusters.

• Document and relay loss information to evaluate potential damages in accordance with FCIC, NCIS, and company protocols.

• Conduct field inspections.

• Interpret maps and aerial imagery.

• Measure fields and storage bins.

• Employ company software and oversee company communications on a daily basis.

• Adhere to FCIS, State, and company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Complete initial and ongoing training and certifications mandated by FCIC and state regulations.

• Clarify adjusting procedures and findings to policyholders and agents.

• Perform fact-finding and investigate crop damage.

• Document and transmit information to accurately assess potential indemnities.

• Acquire knowledge of new crops as necessary.

• Operate in both indoor office and outdoor agricultural settings.

• Travel primarily within a two-hour driving radius from the assigned home office, with occasional travel for training and meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in managing crop insurance claims is preferred.

• CAPP certification is required.

• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Applicable State license.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience.

• A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture is preferred.

• Basic mathematical skills are necessary.

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

• Capability to fulfill documentation requirements.

• Analytical thinking, fact-finding, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to remain motivated and efficient.

• Capability to work in both an office setting and an outdoor farm environment.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Customer service-oriented.

• Familiarity with crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Willingness to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.

• Strong skills in time management and prioritization.

• Capacity to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to walk in agricultural fields for distances up to 3 miles.

• Capability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 75 feet and work at significant heights.

• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and maintain balance.

• Capability to work in confined spaces and under extreme weather conditions.

• Ability to work in high dust environments.

• Proficiency in using the necessary personal protective equipment.

• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

• Up to 50% travel, primarily within a two-hour driving distance from the assigned home office.
