Critical Mechanical System Specialist, Operations Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Provide support and management for commissioning tasks related to essential mechanical systems, which encompass chiller plants, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, heat-rejection systems, and controls/BMS.

• Assess the performance of mechanical systems, operation sequences, and overall readiness before deploying customer loads.

• Carry out site inspections, audits, and operational health evaluations concentrating on mechanical reliability, efficiency, and associated risks.

• Utilize industry standards (including ASHRAE TC 9.9) as a practical reference when analyzing cooling efficiency, environmental factors, and system preparedness.

• Detect operational deficiencies or risks, document observations, and assist in mitigation and resolution efforts.

• Serve as a liaison between design/construction teams and site operations to guarantee the completeness of documentation, procedures, and training for turnover.

• Offer insights and lessons learned to enhance standards, processes, and future data center constructions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in supporting mechanical systems within mission-critical or industrial settings (data centers, oil & gas, healthcare, manufacturing, military, etc.).

• Familiarity with commissioning tasks from an operational, validation, or oversight viewpoint (ownership is not mandatory).

• Solid understanding of mechanical cooling systems, including chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, and heat-rejection systems.

• Capability to work autonomously in a remote, highly independent environment.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including extended site visits lasting one week.
