This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.
• Perform crisis evaluations, which include risk and safety assessments, interventions, and suitable referrals.
• Offer crisis intervention, risk evaluations, supportive counseling, education, problem-solving, role modeling, advocacy, and information dissemination.
• Provide person-centered, rehabilitation- and recovery-oriented services through televideo screenings and telephone crisis support.
• Collaborate with individuals served, their families, treatment team members, CMHCs/CCBHCs, hospitals, and other service providers.
• Organize and facilitate referrals to behavioral health and substance use services.
• Respond promptly to calls during scheduled shifts when not engaged in televideo services.
• Conduct follow-up calls and deliver postvention services after the initial intervention.
• Carry out State Hospital Assessments and refer individuals for involuntary hospitalization in accordance with Kansas statutes.
• Attend Care and Treatment hearings for those referred for involuntary hospitalization.
• Complete screening documentation by the end of the shift and other required documentation within 24 hours.
• Fulfill agency and program training and credentialing requirements.
• Uphold confidentiality standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in staff meetings and execute other assigned responsibilities.
• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or marriage and family therapy.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
• Must maintain licensure with the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
• Minimum of two years of experience delivering client-related services.
• At least one year of experience in providing crisis intervention services.
• One year of experience in CMHCs is preferred.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse populations.
• Exceptional organizational and customer service abilities.
• Previous computer experience and basic computer proficiency.
• Willingness to learn and utilize new technologies, computer programs, and phone systems.
• Competence in preparing and submitting comprehensive, accurate DCF reports in line with mandated guidelines and deadlines.
• Must successfully complete all necessary background checks.
• Availability to work Sunday through Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
• Ability to speak, write, memorize, converse, read, problem-solve, see, hear, and sit; capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 20 pounds.
