Criminal Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Review criminal record data submitted by RealPage Screening to ensure its accuracy, completeness, and correct association with consumers.

• Assess criminal records using vendor-supplied data and manual research methods.

• Examine court documents and case details, comparing them with information from criminal databases.

• Reach out to relevant agencies, such as courthouses, district attorney's offices, sheriff's offices, and recorder's offices as necessary to verify public record information.

• Conduct reviews to ensure that cases are current and reflect any changes found in the docket.

• Utilize databases and online resources to establish consumer identification and their connections to reported records.

• Oversee multiple record queues and prioritize tasks to meet turnaround time expectations.

• Communicate updates and corrections regarding records with criminal data providers to ensure necessary adjustments are made based on review outcomes.

• Collaborate with criminal data providers to address delays, incomplete records, or data discrepancies.

• Provide assistance in quality assurance of criminal updates when required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college degree or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.

• A solid understanding of criminal court systems and processes is required.

• 1-2 years of experience in background screening, criminal records analysis, or legal research is preferred.

• Capability to analyze and validate complex data from multiple sources.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office is required.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong investigative and analytical skills necessary for acquiring public record information.

• Ability to operate efficiently in a high-volume, multi-system environment.

• Familiarity with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is a plus.

• Experience with SQL is a plus.
