This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• This course offers an overview of crime prevention and criminal justice from a global perspective as outlined by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
• Participants will be familiarized with the United Nations’ norms and standards regarding crime prevention and criminal justice.
• The course will also illustrate international applications of these principles, which may encompass studies on police accountability, prison reform, violence against women, and alternative justice systems.
• This curriculum has been developed in collaboration with the UNODC.
• A Master's Degree is required.
• An MA in Criminology, Sociology, or a related field is preferred; a PhD or a PhD in progress is advantageous.
• Relevant work and/or research experience in the area of global crime prevention initiatives is considered beneficial.
• Previous teaching experience is a plus.
• (MEd / EdD degrees will not fulfill the minimum educational requirement).
