Credit Controller – Finance Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Take charge of managing the debtor book

• Follow up on outstanding payments via phone and email

• Negotiate structured payment arrangements

• Strive towards achieving cash collection objectives

• Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, tenants, suppliers, and internal teams

• Foster and maintain robust stakeholder relationships

• Address and resolve account inquiries

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across bank accounts and accounting systems

• Review, verify, and validate supplier and contractor invoices prior to processing

• Ensure clear audit trails and maintain accurate records

• Adhere to consistent internal procedures that support the broader UK finance team

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience as a Credit Controller managing collections and aged debtors

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English

• Impressive telephone etiquette

• Confidence in handling challenging financial discussions with tact and firmness

• Resilience, determination, follow-through, and the ability to work independently under pressure

• Capability to make decisions autonomously without micromanagement

• Strong attention to detail, including identifying discrepancies, missed payments, and duplicate transactions

• Excellent common sense and initiative

• Ability to investigate problems and propose solutions independently before seeking assistance

• Familiarity with Xero is a plus but not mandatory

• Previous experience in the Property industry is advantageous but not required

• Must be able to work during UK business hours; an 8:00 AM UK start is highly preferred

• Must be able to work entirely remotely from South Africa
