• Accountable for underwriting intricate affordable housing construction and permanent loan originations, including those associated with LIHTC and other CRA qualified public-private partnerships.
• Formulate and evaluate affordable housing credits, delivering robust and comprehensive recommendations.
• Prepare credit proposals by collaborating closely with CRE Relationship Managers, Credit Administration, and Loan Administration to finalize transactions.
• Oversee borrower financial data, project performance, compliance with covenants, maturities, and delinquencies.
• Provide precise evaluations of ongoing financial viability.
• Administer a CRE portfolio of borrowing clients, ensuring the quality of the portfolio is maintained.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field is required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted).
• A minimum of 6 years of banking credit analysis experience is necessary.
• Preferred experience in Affordable Housing/LIHTC credit analysis.
• Advanced analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of financial accounting, with the ability to spread and analyze financial statements, cash flows, and tax returns for both companies and individuals with moderate to complex structures to ascertain financial support feasibility for credit requests.
• Familiarity with company formation structures and the ability to identify borrowing and guaranty arrangements.
• Proficient in managing portfolio requirements, including reporting concerns, concentrations, maturities, delinquencies, and loan performance (covering construction progress through absorption and lease-up execution, covenant compliance, and appropriate ongoing risk assessments).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Capable of effectively managing customer relationships and maintenance issues in the absence of CRE Relationship Managers.
• Ability to comprehend client requirements, identify potential cross-sell opportunities, and engage in team objectives involving joint retention calls and prospecting activities.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and similar applications.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to Commercial Real Estate Lending.
