This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.
• Position Duolingo as a culturally relevant and beloved brand among Nigerian audiences.
• Foster awareness and drive growth within Nigeria.
• Leverage skills such as social media, influencer marketing, and impactful local partnerships to enhance brand visibility and attract new users to Duolingo.
• Recruit the appropriate agency for content execution.
• Define agency briefs, conduct the selection process, onboard the agency, establish strategic direction, review and approve content, and oversee the launch of @DuolingoNigeria.
• Broaden the scope to create and implement a comprehensive brand awareness strategy for Nigeria.
• Over 5 years of experience in consumer marketing, with a strong focus on social media.
• Demonstrated experience in briefing, selecting, and managing creative or social media agencies: you understand what quality looks like and how to extract it from a partner.
• Proven track record of achieving results through innovative ideas rather than merely relying on budget for earned media, organic growth, or word of mouth.
• In-depth understanding of Nigerian digital culture, including platforms, creators, humor, and references.
• Strong strategic and writing capabilities, enabling you to craft briefs that agencies can genuinely comprehend and execute effectively.
• Experience in remote work and building robust relationships with a global headquarters team.
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
• Bonus points for experience in scaling international or regional brands within Nigeria.
• Fluency in Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, or other local languages.
