This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Serve as the local director and legal representative for the Mexican entity, ensuring complete adherence to corporate, tax, legal, data protection, and consumer protection regulations.
• Function as or supervise the MLRO/key compliance officer for AML registration as per LFPIORPI (covering virtual assets and credit card operations) while assisting in fintech licensing (such as IFPE under Ley Fintech) with CNBV and Banxico.
• Establish and nurture relationships with regulatory authorities (CNBV, Banxico, UIF, SHCP, SAT) and relevant industry organizations.
• Manage licensing applications, regulatory interactions, and continuous compliance efforts.
• Identify, negotiate, and oversee partnerships with local banks (e.g., BBVA, Banorte, Citibanamex), payment processors, card networks, and financial institutions for fiat on/off-ramps, SPEI, and credit card solutions.
• Collaborate with Product and Operations teams to enhance local integrations and service execution.
• Propel user acquisition, market share, and revenue expansion in Mexico.
• Perform market and competitor assessments to uncover potential opportunities.
• Create and implement go-to-market strategies for new offerings (crypto payments, virtual assets, credit cards).
• Must meet the regulatory "fit and proper" criteria for key personnel in Mexican fintech/financial services.
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Certifications in Mexican financial regulations (AML/CFT, fintech) are highly advantageous.
• Over 5 years of experience in the fintech, payments, banking, or crypto sectors in Mexico/LATAM, with a minimum of 2 years in senior leadership positions.
• Extensive knowledge of crypto/blockchain, Mexican regulations (Ley Fintech, LFPIORPI, CNBV/Banxico directives), and local market trends.
• Demonstrated success in business development, strategic partnerships (particularly with banks and payment providers), and scaling operations within Mexico.
• A well-established network with Mexican banks, regulators, and fintech stakeholders is a significant asset.
• Native or professional fluency in Spanish and professional proficiency in English.
