This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Ensure that patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other vital documentation are completed in compliance with relevant federal and state regulations, as well as agency policies and procedures.

• Provide patients with an orientation on program objectives, phase system requirements, rules and regulations, sanctions, service hours, patient rights, and additional information to facilitate their adjustment to the program.

• Guarantee that each patient is assessed and placed according to the treatment phases in accordance with federal and state standards and agency policies.

• Maintain organized and up-to-date patient files for both personal and agency use, adhering to established policies and procedures.

• Counsel patients during crisis situations by identifying their resources and coping abilities, assisting them in managing and resolving crises.

• Counsel patients who have declined to adhere to specific program requirements, enhancing their understanding of the consequences of noncompliance.

• Coordinate referrals to other community agencies and resources when appropriate.

• Conduct treatment plan reviews.

• Engage in case conferences and case reviews, following established policies and procedures.

• Enhance knowledge of federal, state, and agency regulations concerning confidentiality, methadone treatment, and substance abuse counseling certification.

• Submit all internal and external correspondence to the supervisor for review and approval.

• Obtain necessary documentation from patients, when required, to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.

• Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly statistical reports to the supervisor.

• Attend scheduled supervision meetings.

• Participate in team meetings and fulfill all required training courses.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a social science discipline and a minimum of one (1) year of experience related to substance abuse.

• Counselors must be licensed or certified by the applicable Virginia Health Registry Board or by a nationally recognized certification board or be CSAC eligible.

• Experience with dependency and/or medication-assisted treatment is required.
