Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Utilize independent judgment and discretion while executing substantive legal tasks as a licensed attorney.

• Foster positive relationships with clients and uphold strict confidentiality in all client matters.

• Operate independently or with guidance from senior attorneys, based on the needs of the case.

• Supervise or manage attorneys and paralegals within the department as required.

• Maintain a high level of expertise in designated subject matter areas.

• Advise department members on legal updates impacting assigned areas of expertise.

• Identify opportunities to ensure the organization complies with relevant laws.

• Provide prompt responses to requests for legal counsel.

• Implement strategies to deliver legal services efficiently.

• Collaborate effectively and assume leadership roles on Law Department and organizational projects and teams.

• Engage professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school.

• A minimum of five years of experience as a practicing attorney, including at least two years in the specific area of practice.

• Solid understanding of the operations within a regulated industry.

• Active member in good standing of the Ohio or Florida bar, or the ability to become a member of either bar within a reasonable timeframe.

• Capacity to exercise independent judgment and discretion in providing legal services.

• Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods.

• Willingness to travel throughout the hospital system.

• Proficient in operating a computer, audiovisual equipment, and other office tools.

• Effective communication skills for exchanging accurate information, including delivering training both in person and virtually.

• Adherence to standard precautions and necessary personal protective equipment.
