This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide legal assistance to the Arrowhead Intermediaries platform encompassing its wholesale, programs, and specialty divisions.
• Aid in legal, regulatory, contractual, governance, and operational issues pertaining to specialty distribution insurance activities.
• Evaluate legal and compliance aspects related to strategic projects, including new product introductions, program initiations, cross-border ventures, and mergers & acquisitions.
• Prepare, assess, and negotiate both routine and complex agreements, such as insurance distribution and commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with business units, operations, compliance, IT, finance, tax, team resources, and leadership groups.
• Investigate and keep abreast of relevant insurance statutes, regulations, and regulatory updates.
• Assist with pre-litigation issues, claims, disputes, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and internal probes.
• Support corporate governance, entity management, internal policies, ethics, and compliance programs.
• Partner with enterprise associates including privacy, technology, regulatory, and litigation counsel.
• Elevate critical legal, regulatory, or business risk issues to the Chief Counsel or the relevant leader within the Legal Department.
• Current license to practice law and maintain good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of legal experience concentrated on general corporate and transactional matters.
• Three to five years of in-house experience at an insurance carrier, MGA, MGU, insurance brokerage, wholesale brokerage, or with a law firm serving (re)insurance clients.
• Experience with a carrier or MGA is mandatory.
• Profound understanding of U.S. admitted and E&S market regulations.
• Proficient knowledge of U.S. cybersecurity, privacy, and AI regulations.
• Familiarity with Bermuda, UK, and EU (re)insurance regulatory frameworks is advantageous.
• Exceptional drafting, legal research, analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
• Capacity to operate independently while properly escalating matters to senior legal counsel.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders and cross-functional teams in a dynamic, decentralized setting.
• High degree of discretion and capability to uphold confidentiality.
• Willingness to travel 10–25% as required for projects, meetings, or visits to supported Profit Centers.
