This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Reviews, drafts, and negotiates legal and transactional documents for potential reinsurance agreements.

• Offers legal support and guidance related to transactional reinsurance to business units and executive leadership.

• Assists affiliates with U.S. and international reinsurance transactions while advising on relevant U.S. regulatory and legal matters.

• Conducts research and provides legal counsel on regulatory and legal issues.

• Monitors, assesses, and analyzes new federal and state legislation, laws, and regulations.

• Provides advice to the business on various topics, including the interpretation and application of agreement terms and corporate policies.

• Leverages artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g., generative AI).

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

• California State Bar license in good standing is required.

• 3-5 years of legal experience at a prominent law firm, focusing on reinsurance and/or financial transactions.

• Exceptional academic credentials and references.

• Strong business or transactional experience with excellent drafting abilities.

• Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.

• Excellent negotiation skills.

• High level of intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn new areas of law.

• Capability to identify legal issues and assess legal risks.

• Ability to analyze, research, and communicate legal issues concerning statutes and regulations impacting the insurance and financial services sectors.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and online legal research tools.
