Cost & Value Engineer – Technical Procurement Expert, Power Electronics & Battery System

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Analyze and evaluate technical specifications, manufacturing processes, and materials in the fields of power electronics and battery systems.

• Critically assess supplier specifications and cost surcharges, challenging them when necessary.

• Compare technical product alternatives and identify optimization potential.

• Create cost calculations and derive savings opportunities.

• Prepare and support supplier negotiations with technical expertise.

• Develop negotiation arguments based on technical analyses and market price comparisons.

• Provide technical support for tenders (RFQ/RFP).

• Early assessment of technical changes and their impacts in collaboration with product management.

• Contribute a technical perspective to product decisions and specification adjustments.

• Act as a liaison between Procurement, SCM, and Product Management.

• Manage KPIs and data-driven reporting.

• Foster knowledge transfer and best practices within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid technical understanding of power electronics, battery systems, or related technologies, gained through studies, training, or professional experience.

• Ability to critically question technical specifications and recognize optimization potential.

• Strong cost awareness and interest in Cost & Value Engineering.

• Analytical and structured working style with a strong understanding of numbers.

• Initial exposure to purchasing or supplier management is an advantage, but not mandatory.

• Excellent communication skills and a persuasive approach with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Experience with ERP systems and modern procurement or calculation tools.

• Fluent in German and English for negotiation purposes.
