This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Aprio’s tax specialists are dedicated to providing outstanding client service while developing and implementing smart strategies aimed at minimizing our clients' tax liabilities.
• Oversee and direct cost segregation studies from the initial assessment to the final presentation.
• Counsel clients on tax depreciation strategies, opportunities for accelerated depreciation, and relevant planning considerations.
• Examine real estate portfolios to pinpoint assets that qualify for advantageous tax treatment.
• Provide clients with comprehensive reports that include clear analyses and recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal tax teams, engineers, and valuation experts to carry out studies efficiently.
• Keep abreast of federal and state tax changes that influence real estate and depreciation strategies.
• Aid in the expansion of the practice through client development, cross-selling, and enhancing market visibility.
• Contribute to webinars, whitepapers, and other business development activities.
• Guide and mentor junior professionals while overseeing team performance and ensuring project quality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineering certification is preferred.
• Over 6 years of experience in cost segregation.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Previous leadership experience in public accounting, advisory, or consulting roles.
• Strong understanding of tax depreciation regulations, IRS guidelines, and cost segregation practices.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Excellent analytical, client-facing, and presentation skills.
• Preference for candidates willing to work in a hybrid arrangement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AI tools (such as Claude and Copilot).
