This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Assisting the client with procurement strategies, which includes vendor prequalification, bid evaluation, and overseeing the appointment process.
• Aiding in the creation of comprehensive cost estimates that encompass construction, fees, and other project-related expenses, while also supporting the assessment of these estimates against benchmark data and prior project outcomes.
• Playing a role in the development and upkeep of cost plans that are in line with early works, site development, and heavy civil scopes.
• Helping review contractor and vendor proposals, which includes bid leveling and commercial evaluations.
• Supporting value engineering initiatives and risk assessments, including the evaluation of cost and constructability effects.
• Assisting with cost reporting by preparing and refreshing cost reports, forecasts, and budget tracking instruments.
• Maintaining project budgets, expenditure forecasts, and commercial risk registers under supervision.
• Engaging in regular cost review meetings with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Aiding cost control procedures, which involves reviewing payment applications and contractor entitlement assessments.
• Monitoring and analyzing change orders, providing recommendations to the client.
• Contributing to efforts aimed at dispute avoidance and resolution related to payments and change management.
• Supporting the tracking of commitments, contingencies, and cost impacts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly cost reports and presentations for clients.
• Supporting the reconciliation of final accounts, post-contract audits, and project close-out tasks.
• Maintaining cost data and contributing to benchmarking efforts, particularly for heavy civil and site development projects.
• Assisting in documenting lessons learned and fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
• Performing tasks using standard tools such as bid analysis sheets, change control documentation, estimating software, and quantity take-off tools.
• A bachelor’s degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of pertinent experience in cost management within the construction industry, especially in large-scale infrastructure or heavy civil projects with transferable relevance to data centers, mission-critical, or similarly intricate construction environments.
• Experience in supporting fast-paced construction programs that involve substantial site development elements.
• RICS accreditation or progress towards it is preferred.
• Experience in cost management for medium to large projects.
• Construction consultancy experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement strategies, and principles of commercial management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Candidates must be physically located in the United States and legally authorized to work in the U.S.; remote work is permitted only within the United States.
