This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Able to swiftly grasp the Company's estimating systems and procedures.
• Familiar with estimating terminology and measurements, and able to identify estimating processes or project actions that could affect the project.
• Conduct Environmental Remediation estimations using Microsoft Excel.
• Capable of overseeing the preparation of estimates and supporting the proposal team during the development of technical remediation approaches.
• Leads reviews of estimates by the Project Team.
• Works in conjunction with project teams and management to formulate strategies and plans.
• Engages in the analysis and application of estimations to foresee critical project challenges.
• Clearly documents assumptions for 1) communication with the project team during the bidding process and 2) execution of tasks.
• Aids in evaluating business opportunities and assessing potential profitability.
• Possesses understanding and application skills for financial analysis and profitability metrics calculation.
• Familiar with construction methods, means, and sequencing across multiple disciplines.
• Guides junior staff in task development, setting and maintaining goals and expectations, and documenting performance-related issues and accomplishments.
• Recognizes and nurtures talent.
• Actively involved in all staffing matters impacting their area of responsibility.
• Aids in monitoring action items.
• Prepares or assists in the formulation of ROIC and IRR forecasts.
• Collaborates directly with subcontractors to address technical issues during proposals, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Develops crew build-ups and determines production rates.
• Selects appropriate construction equipment.
• Holds a working knowledge of planning and scheduling.
• Understands the company's cost structure (overheads, G&A, insurances).
• Creates Work Breakdown Structures.
• Assesses the appropriateness of scope and execution plans as a basis for estimates.
• Initiates the creation of an Estimate Plan (approach, techniques, level of effort, cost, schedule), Basis of Estimate, and qualifications.
• Prepares bid tabulations in accordance with customer/Request for Proposal requirements.
• Gathers, analyzes, and archives project data.
• Develops historical documentation.
• Produces current project estimate comparisons with previous performance and market benchmark data.
• Assists in preparing information for Executive Review Committee presentations.
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration in Business AND 4+ years of estimator-related experience (including environmental remediation) OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Must successfully pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients require security sensitivity.
• Due to the nature of the role, U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• A valid U.S. Driver's License is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with others.
• Experience as an estimator preparing successful estimates for completed, large (>$10M), firm-fixed-price performance-based environmental remediation work is highly preferred.
