This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Acquire knowledge and implement the company's estimating systems, procedures, terminology, and actions that impact projects.
• Conduct environmental remediation estimates using Microsoft Excel.
• Oversee the preparation of estimates and assist proposal teams in developing technical approaches for remediation projects.
• Facilitate estimate reviews with the project team.
• Partner with project teams and management to create strategies and plans.
• Analyze estimates to foresee significant project challenges.
• Document assumptions for effective communication during the bidding process and work execution.
• Assess business opportunities and evaluate potential profitability.
• Conduct financial analysis and compute profitability metrics.
• Supervise junior personnel, set goals and expectations, and document their performance.
• Identify and cultivate talent while participating in staffing decisions.
• Monitor action items.
• Prepare or assist in forecasting ROIC and IRR.
• Collaborate with subcontractors on technical aspects during proposals, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Prepare crew build-ups and assess production rates.
• Choose appropriate construction equipment.
• Create Work Breakdown Structures.
• Analyze scope and execution plans to serve as the foundation for estimates.
• Draft Estimate Plans, Bases of Estimate, qualifications, and bid tabulations.
• Gather, analyze, archive, and document project data and historical information.
• Compare current estimates with previous performance and market benchmark data.
• Assist in preparing materials for Executive Review Committee presentations.
• A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration in Business along with 4+ years of experience related to estimating, specifically in environmental remediation, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Must successfully pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• A valid U.S. Driver's License is mandatory.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Capability to work independently while also collaborating with others.
• Experience in preparing successful estimates for competitive, large-scale (>$10M), firm fixed-price performance-based environmental remediation projects is highly desired.
• Familiarity with the RACER cost estimating tool is preferred.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences across various disciplines.
• Working knowledge of planning and scheduling is essential.
• Comprehension of the company's cost structure, including overheads, G&A, and insurances.
• Knowledge and application of financial analysis and profitability metrics.
• Ability to prepare crew build-ups and assess production rates.
• Skill in determining the selection of construction equipment.
• Competence in developing Work Breakdown Structures.
• Capacity to evaluate scope and execution plans as a basis for estimates.
