Cost Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the month-end inventory costing update process for the company and offer guidance to the Staff Cost Accountant.

• Execute monthly inventory costing tasks, which include standard cost updates.

• Evaluate inventory transactions and allocate production costs, including freight, duties, FOB charges, and other landed costs.

• Assess purchase orders and compare actual landed costs to expected costs.

• Manage and refresh standard costs within the company's ERP system.

• Analyze cost variances, identify underlying issues, and collaborate with sourcing, production, and operations teams to resolve them.

• Assist in month-end close activities associated with inventory and cost accounting.

• Conduct inventory reconciliations and valuation analyses.

• Review domestic production costing and carry out monthly cost analyses.

• Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to enhance costing accuracy and reporting.

• Facilitate internal and external audit processes related to inventory and cost accounting.

• Propose process enhancements, fortify internal controls, and implement cost accounting best practices.

• Support ad hoc accounting projects and financial analyses as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• A minimum of 2–4 years of experience in Cost Accounting.

• Background in Manufacturing, Consumer Goods (CPG), Apparel, Retail, Distribution, eCommerce, or other inventory-centric industries.

• Experience in supporting complex inventory environments with multiple manufacturing locations is highly desirable.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Willingness to work overnight/graveyard shifts according to Philippine time or within U.S. operating hours.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, Lookups, Advanced Formulas, Data Analysis).

• Familiarity with enterprise-level ERP systems is essential.

• Strong knowledge of: Standard Costing, Inventory Valuation, Cost Variance Analysis, and Landed Cost Accounting (FOB, Freight, Duties, Agent Fees).

• Capability to analyze extensive datasets and generate significant financial insights.

• Familiarity with industry-specific software, including ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
