This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Take charge of the daily accounting functions — accounts payable, receiving reconciliation, vendor accounts, and ensuring COGS accuracy.
• Process, categorize, and schedule vendor invoices across our entire supplier network.
• Carry out 3-way matching (Purchase Order → receiving report → invoice) for every incoming shipment.
• Manage payment cycles, monitor terms, and seize early-pay discounts.
• Address discrepancies directly with vendors — you initiate the conversation, and we support you.
• Conduct daily reconciliations of invoiced quantities against goods actually received at our dock.
• Identify short shipments, production variances, and pricing mistakes before they escalate into write-offs.
• Collaborate with fulfillment leadership to ensure receiving documentation is precise.
• Maintain accurate weighted average costs across approximately 1,300 SKUs.
• Reconcile landed costs — including freight, duties, and inbound charges — to reflect true unit economics.
• Assist in monthly COGS true-ups and inventory valuation assessments.
• Manage vendor account reconciliations, perform statement reviews, and ensure compliance with terms.
• Serve as the primary contact for all billing matters within our supplier network.
• Monitor vendor performance metrics: variance rates, pricing fluctuations, and chargeback recoveries.
• Conduct margin analyses: track blended and category-level gross margins across all categories.
• Perform SKU analyses: assess contribution, velocity, and markdown risks across 1,300 SKUs — advise on areas to enhance and those to reduce.
• Evaluate vendor efficiency: create scorecards for suppliers based on cost, accuracy, and reliability — determine who merits increased volume and who requires attention.
• Undertake ad hoc deep dives for ownership: conduct spend reviews, analyze pricing scenarios, and address any pressing business inquiries of the week.
• 3–6 years of experience in accounting or a blend of accounting and FP&A, with substantial exposure to inventory, accounts payable, or cost accounting — experience in apparel, CPG, or DTC e-commerce is highly desirable.
• CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Proficient in 3-way matching and comfortable challenging vendors when discrepancies arise.
• Advanced Excel skills: ability to create pivots, lookups, and models from scratch without relying on templates.
• Strong understanding of unit economics beyond journal entries — including contribution margin, landed cost, and inventory turns.
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar); experience with the Shopify ecosystem is advantageous.
• Self-motivated and quick to act. Ability to prioritize clearly, take full ownership, and work independently without needing guidance.
• Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
• Flexible work arrangements to promote work-life balance.
• A supportive and collaborative team environment.
