This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design and implement standardized training programs for jumbo operators.
• Facilitate classroom, hands-on, and field-based training sessions.
• Instruct both new employees and current staff on jumbo drilling machinery, systems, and operational protocols.
• Offer coaching and mentorship to operators to enhance their performance and productivity.
• Create training materials, presentations, assessments, and competency evaluations.
• Assess operator competency through practical demonstrations and observations.
• Conduct operator evaluations and maintain comprehensive training records.
• Analyze drilling performance and provide actionable recommendations for enhancement.
• Advocate for best practices in ground support installation, drilling precision, and equipment usage.
• Support the rollout of new equipment, technologies, and operating procedures.
• Perform field inspections and audits pertaining to jumbo operations.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8–10 years of experience in underground mining is required.
• At least 5 years of experience operating mechanized jumbo drills in underground mining.
• Previous roles as a Trainer, Lead Hand, Supervisor, or Mentor are preferred.
• Solid understanding of underground development and production mining techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of jumbo drilling operations and ground support installation practices.
• Comprehensive understanding of mining health and safety standards.
• Experience with various jumbo drill manufacturers (such as Epiroc, Sandvik, etc.).
• Certifications: A valid driver's license, relevant underground mining certifications are required, Train-the-Trainer certification is preferred, and First Aid certification is considered a valuable asset.
