
Corporate Director – Category Management, Private Label

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the strategic growth, development, and profitability of the company's private label portfolio across essential product categories.
• Formulate category strategies, pinpoint product opportunities, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate across various departments.
• Manage the complete product lifecycle—from market research and product conception to sourcing, pricing, launching, and ongoing management.
• Ensure alignment with customer demands, the company's financial goals, and long-term merchandising strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Sourcing, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
• Create and implement comprehensive private label category strategies that align with merchandising and growth objectives.
• Identify market opportunities through competitive analysis, customer insights, and industry trends.
• Construct and maintain a multi-year product roadmap for designated categories.
• Assess product assortments, identify gaps, and enhance SKU rationalization.
• Manage product lifecycle activities including refreshes, discontinuations, and line extensions.
• Engage in supplier negotiations covering cost, quality, lead times, payment terms, and capacity.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of experience in Category Management, Product Management, Merchandising, or Private Label Management.
• Proven experience managing private label or proprietary product portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing, manufacturing, supplier management, and product lifecycle management.
• Advanced analytical capabilities with experience in utilizing sales, margin, and inventory data to inform decisions.
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint applications.
• Must be able to pass a background check after offer acceptance.
• Preferred: Experience in commercial foodservice equipment, restaurant supplies, hospitality, janitorial/sanitation, or distribution sectors.
• Preferred: Experience collaborating with overseas manufacturers and managing import programs.
• Preferred: Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and foodservice supplies.
• Preferred: Experience with ERP, PIM, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Preferred: MBA or an advanced business degree is preferred.
