This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer support for M&A and corporate transactions, encompassing due diligence, negotiation, and legal integration.
• Act as the primary legal advisor to senior management concerning strategy, risk, and compliance issues, providing thought leadership across various functions and influencing significant organizational decisions.
• Evaluate externally facing documents, such as websites, RFPs, and marketing materials, for potential legal risks.
• Collaborate with the Compliance and Risk team on matters related to consumer protection, data protection and privacy, regulatory frameworks, and governance.
• Assist in the management and protection of intellectual property.
• Support efforts in crisis response and management.
• Keep leadership informed by monitoring and advising on the changing corporate legal landscape.
• Serve as the main legal resource for People Ops, Product, IT, Revenue, and Finance teams, applying judgment to assess complex issues, identify risks, and recommend organizational-wide actions.
• Act as Corporate Secretary for RCF, providing support to the RCF Board of Directors and other RCF Officers.
• Offer governance support to ARC entities and act as a resource for corporate governance issues.
• Oversee and manage outside counsel as needed.
• Utilize AI tools and technology to enhance legal research, document drafting, due diligence processes, and contract review, thereby improving the team's operational efficiency.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the bar in at least one state is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, either in-house or at a law firm, with a focus on corporate, M&A, or transactional work; broad cross-functional exposure is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of M&A, corporate finance, governance, and corporate transactions.
• Strong preference for experience in employment law, intellectual property, and/or data protection and privacy.
• Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of advising and influencing senior leadership.
• Proven track record of collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including executives and board members.
• Ability to represent Ren professionally in engagements with ARC entities, sponsoring organizations, and outside counsel.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools: experience using AI-assisted technologies for legal research, contract analysis, or document drafting; commitment to remaining updated on emerging legal technology.
• Operate with a high level of independence; exercise significant discretion in determining strategies for complex legal issues and recognized internally as a subject matter expert. Ability to guide the work of outside counsel and serve as a mentor and resource to colleagues on cross-functional legal matters.
