Corporate Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +25 more states.

📋 Description

• Take the lead in the complete drafting, evaluation, and negotiation of intricate commercial agreements, such as enterprise SaaS, strategic partnerships, and vendor contracts.

• Provide guidance to Product and Engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle regarding regulatory, intellectual property, and contractual frameworks.

• Play a key role in developing Lob’s data privacy strategy by translating GDPR and CCPA regulations into actionable practices.

• Perform privacy impact assessments.

• Spearhead the negotiation of data processing agreements.

• Supervise corporate compliance programs.

• Develop internal policies and targeted training programs.

• Carry out strategic vendor audits.

• Design scalable legal workflows, automated self-service templates, and cross-functional playbooks.

• Collaborate with the General Counsel on special projects, ad-hoc legal issues, and strategic initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7+ years of pertinent legal experience, with a strong preference for in-house roles.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.

• Understanding of legal risks and business challenges in an enterprise SaaS setting.

• Capacity to manage a high workload independently.

• Ability to simplify complex legal concepts into actionable business advice.

• Proficiency in making swift, risk-adjusted decisions in a dynamic environment.

• Preferred: experience advising HR teams on employment lifecycle issues.

• Preferred: experience overseeing corporate litigation or pre-litigation dispute resolution in collaboration with external counsel.

• Preferred: experience advising businesses that integrate SaaS platforms with physical products.

• Preferred: experience supporting supply chain operations, including logistics and shipping.

• Preferred: experience managing capitalization tables and administering employee equity programs using platforms like Carta.
