This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Designing, implementing, and assessing training programs for Bolter Operators across various underground mining projects.
β’ Ensuring that operators achieve and uphold competency in safe, efficient, and productive rock bolting techniques.
β’ Offering practical field coaching, classroom instruction, competency evaluations, and mentorship to operators with diverse skill levels.
β’ Collaborating closely with site management, supervisors, and health and safety teams to enhance operational performance and overall workforce capabilities.
β’ Creating and delivering standardized training programs for bolter operators that align with company standards and site-specific needs.
β’ Conducting classroom, practical, and field-based training that covers all facets of mechanized bolting operations.
β’ Facilitating new employee orientation, onboarding, and refresher training sessions.
β’ Assessing operator competency through structured practical demonstrations and field evaluations.
β’ Carrying out formal assessments of operators and maintaining accurate, up-to-date training documentation.
β’ Assisting with initial certification, periodic recertification, and cross-training initiatives.
β’ Partnering with site supervision to enhance bolting practices, ground support quality, and operational efficiency.
β’ Advocating for best practices in bolting methods and ground support installation.
β’ Engaging in incident investigations related to bolting operations and offering corrective training suggestions.
β’ Analyzing bolting performance metrics and providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
β’ Ensuring adherence to company policies and relevant regulations.
β’ Conducting field inspections and safety audits with a focus on bolting operations and ground support installation.
β’ Compiling regular reports on training activities, operator competency status, and workforce development progress.
β’ High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
β’ Mining-related trade certification or post-secondary education is advantageous.
β’ Certification in adult education, training design, or instructional methods is beneficial.
β’ A minimum of 8β10 years of underground mining experience is required.
β’ At least 5 years of practical experience operating mechanized bolters in an underground hard rock or coal mining setting is essential.
β’ Previous roles as a Trainer, Lead Hand, Supervisor, or Mentor are highly preferred.
β’ Familiarity with various bolter manufacturers, including Epiroc, Sandvik, JH Fletcher, MacLean, or their equivalents is necessary.
β’ Strong knowledge of underground ground support systems, installation techniques, and ground control management plans is required.
β’ A valid driver's license is a requirement.
β’ Relevant underground mining certifications are necessary (jurisdiction-specific).
β’ Ground Control certification or equivalent is a significant advantage.
β’ Train-the-Trainer (T3) certification is preferred.
β’ Standard First Aid / CPR certification is considered an asset.
